The following activity; Colors I See…"Energize Me” is a “high energy, fun and organized” classroom activity that gives your students a chance to move their bodies in a number of ways, while learning to recognize their colors.
Colors I See…"Energize Me” does not require any equipment and can be used as a “Brain Break” or as a functional, color recognition lesson. It can also be utilized in the gym or outside by a classroom or PE teacher if students need to move their bodies in a larger space.
You can show the cards and do a whole group activity where all of the students perform the same movement at the same time (while you reinforce color recognition). You could also set up “station” or “center” areas throughout the room and have your students rotate to each color card and movement.
Print out the Colors I See…Energize Me 8 ½ by 11 sheets, fold them in ½ at the line to produce a double-sided item and then laminate them. Using card-stock paper makes for a sturdier product. Cut a hole in the top left side of the ½ sheet, double sided cards. Put a ring in the hole and you are ready to go.

The 2 posters (Kdg. to 2nd and 3rd to 5th) identify 2 Common Core Standards for Language Arts- (Speaking and Listening ) for each grade level and provide examples of how we can align to the CC Language Arts Standards by implementing simple PE teaching practices/activities in our daily lessons. Administrators and parents will love to read these signs/posters and they will automatically bring up a positive conversation.
